Who we are
This blog is a joint effort of veteran bankruptcy attorneys Doug Jacobs and Cathy Moran. We believe that mortgage modification, overseen by a bankruptcy judge, offers both homeowners and our international economy the quickest and most effective way to stop foreclosures, keep families in their homes, and stabilize home values.
We share membership in the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, we write for the Bankruptcy Law Network, and we live in Northern California.
Doug practices bankruptcy law in Chico where he founded Jacobs, Anderson, Potter & Chaplin.
Cathy practices in the San Francisco Bay Area at the Moran Law Group, based in Mountain View.
Here and on our nascent companion site, SaveHomeWithBankruptcy, we will follow the progress of legislation now pending before Congress that would remove the current barrier to modifying home loans in bankruptcy.
We will discuss the progress of the bill, the unknowns in its application, and, we expect, its implementation in Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases across the country.
